Depends on the broker.. all you need is to have low commission / low slippage and a broker that have slower price quotes compared to the fast feed.
Some brokers you can start with $5 or $10, but in most cases you'll have a higher spread (like 1.5 pips and higher).

 

don't be fooled. You will have a lot of losing trades. You will need at least $ 1,000 of capital to make sense and be able to test at least 20 brokers. If they don't work, sometimes you lose $ 10, sometimes you lose $ 20. sometimes $ 50 It's different. Just so you know, I've tested about 70 different brokers and it only worked for four. Only two of them allowed to make profits.

I have seen using 1 leg with minimum of 100usd and gain almost 500% in just 1 day and that's why I'm eager to have DAAS because of the flexibility of strategies on it. I have experienced it by myself.. the amount of money isn't important. I also started with $100, and made $1000 in a few minutes.. (was with a news event).
Most important is that the broker have latency. If that is the case, arbitrage will simply works. When it works, you can even start with $10 (if the broker allows to have an account with $10 for example).

Yeah, it was really funny to experience that , it worked with the same software of the developpers of this (DAAS) system, it was the latency arbitrage, that is also included in this software.
Started with small lots (0.01) and almost 99% of the trades went directly in profit.
So after a few trades I raised it to 0.02 and that worked too.
So after that 0.10 lot and had $10 profits per order, I was really happy at that time.
So 100 became $1000+.
Then.. the news volatility was over, so I couldn't earn anymore.. next morning (few hours later) I tried, and it didn't work anymore.
After that I was thinking: I should have mixed it with other ea's to disguise it, but it was too late, so I gave up.
Now after 5 years, lets try it again. Trying to use it directly with locking orders to disguise the trades and hope that it will work.
